Small functional Shelf

Here is an image of a shelf design for a friend.  The requirements for the shelf is that it must be equally strong and can be used as an under the bed shelf or a single column stand-up shelf.  This design varies from my typical 3/4" structure, and instead makes use of everything being 1/2" or 1/4" components.  This design will require more time to build, but should prove to be strong, durable, and (hopefully) light-er.
